What We Cover

From VPNs and password managers to laptops, AI assistants, and web hosting — if it’s a piece of consumer tech that costs money, we have an opinion. Our focus is practical: does it work, is it worth the price, and what should you use instead if it doesn’t?

How We Research

Every article on ZeroTux is built from publicly verifiable sources: official documentation from the provider, third-party benchmarks (PCMag, Tom’s Guide, HostAdvice), independent audit reports, and aggregated user feedback from Reddit and Trustpilot.

We do not claim to personally test every product we cover. We do claim to read, cross-check, and weigh the evidence so the recommendation we give you is one we’d give a friend.

Editorial Standards

  • Sources first. If we cite a number — speed, uptime, price — we link to where that number came from.
  • No fake testing claims. We don’t pretend to have run benchmarks we didn’t run.
  • Cons matter. Every recommendation includes what the product is bad at, not just what it’s good at.
  • We update. When prices, features, or owners change, we revise — articles show their last edit date.

How ZeroTux Makes Money

ZeroTux earns commissions when readers buy through affiliate links — at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence which products we recommend. We disclose affiliate links on every article and on our Disclaimer page.

If a tool we like doesn’t have an affiliate program, we still recommend it. If a tool with a generous affiliate program is bad, we say so.
